A Little About Me
Hi, my name is Brooklyn Harriman and I am a first year music student at Western University. My major instrument is the violin, however I can also sing, play the piano, and the flute. Well, I played the flute for a couple years when I was 9 years old, I might pick it up again while I'm at university. I'm from London and currently live with my parents and two sisters.
Music has always been a huge part of my life, ever since my parents first signed me up for lessons when I was 2. At my first elementary school I sang in the choir. When I was in grade 4, I had the opportunity to audition for an arts school for grades 5-8. I got in and learned how to play the violin and continued to sing in the choir. While I was at that school I grew to love music even more, especially the violin. Unfortunately, I also discovered that I had a bit of performance anxiety. This continued through high school which is also a well-known music school (teaches string, vocal, and band). To this day, I still get a bit nervous about performing in front of people.
I learned a lot over the years from different music teachers, new classmates, and experiences. I also discovered that I wanted to become a music teacher since music is what I love and I want to share with people. I'm very glad I came to Western University and I'm excited to see what these next four years have in store!

Music Stand Painting, CCH: Grade 12 Project (2019)
As part of our Grade 12 Strings Project, my class painted old music stands and sold them at our final concert. I am clearly not a visual artist, however the project was a lot of fun! My Theme was Harry Potter.
